If you’re a regular reader of my blog then you probably remember me blogging about the original snoozeshade here Snoozeshade – Products I Love and so when I was contacted to see if I’d like to try a prototype of their new product I of course jumped at the chance

One of the main disadvantages to the original snoozeshade was that if the child was awake then you needed to take off the shade to let them see out and this meant exposing the child to the sun. Well the new Snoozeshade plus has solved this problem by having a panel which can be used as a look out panel when baby is awake so they can still see out and be shaded from the sun and when they fall asleep the panel can be closed to give the blackout features of the original snoozeshade. Absolutely genius!

The snoozeshade plus keeps all the main benefits of the original snoozeshade such as being easy to fit thanks to the velco straps, easy to carry thanks to the ability to fold it away and store in the little mesh bag it comes with. The main improvements are an extra set of straps to help with fitting it to more styles of pram/pushchair and also it is bigger than the original snoozeshade and so can accomodate larger children (up to approx 4 years old) under it.

Some information taken from their website (because I’ll let them explain the technical stuff with regard to sun protection )
“The single-layer ‘lookout panel’ protects from 80% of UVA and UVB rays (UPF5) and lets children see out to enjoy their surroundings. When it’s naptime simply zip up the blackout panel and it turns easily and quickly from sunshade to sleep aid with UPF50+ all over. It offers one of the highest total levels of sun protection in the stroller sunshade market.”

Now it has been said that I’m a bit of a pram addict (I only have 4) and I’ve tried the snoozeshade plus on the Quinny Buzz 4, the Quinny Zapp, the Quinny Zapp Xtra and the Phil & Teds Explorer and it has fitted easily on all of them. Our main use for it at the moment is to cover the gap in the P&T when we have the double kit on so that Oscar can sleep in peace whilst Zara enjoys the views.

You can find out more about the Snoozeshade Plus and where to buy it on their website here! It’s definitely a product I don’t leave home without
