Boux Avenue Opening, Metrocentre
3I was asked if I would like to attend the pre-store opening of the new Boux Avenue store in the Metrocentre, Newcastle and of course I said yes
I love clothes, love lingerie and I have a secret crush on Theo Paphitis so I’d have been mad to say no
The Metrocentre is the 7th Boux Avenue store to be opened by owner Theo Paphitis (of Dragon’s Den fame) and offers a beautiful range of luxury lingerie which you won’t necessarily need to spend your children’s inheritance on (see what I did there?
) You can also check them out on their online store if there isn’t currently a store near you
Boux Avenue in the Metrocentre can be found on the lower level in the Green Mall.
The store is beautifully laid out with stunning displays and it has a really luxurious feel to it. I love the little screens they have around showing images of their clothes.
The lingerie itself is absolutely stunning and I could have quite happily walked out with one of everything from the store
I did however especially like their nightwear range! OK so I’m a mum nowadays and cosy pyjamas and dressing gowns are a necessity when staggering around the house at 3am sorting out crying babies
There is also a lovely range of toiletries, in particular I loved the shimmery body wash and their lip balm (I may have to invest with party season just around the corner
)
Of course the highlight of our visit was getting meet the rather lovely Mr Theo Paphitis. Oscar was rather impressed with him as well. (ps He’s not as short as he looks on the TV you know, I think it’s just because he’s always next to that tall and gangly Peter Jones
) I didn’t quite catch the entire conversation that Oscar and Theo had but I’m hoping the handshake in the photo below wasn’t Oscar offering away half of my business for a bottle of milk
Ooh and for the first week the store is open, they are offering a free pair of matching knickers with every bra! Definitely an opportunity to stock up on some lovely lingerie
I was kindly given a lovely goody bag after my visit containing some hand cream, lip balm, knickers and a gift card – ooh and a couple of extremely yummy cakes which I’ve just polished off whilst writing this
My new party dress!
8I’m frequently sent lovely items to review for Zara and Oscar but it makes a lovely change when I’m asked to choose and review something for myself
The lovely people at Kaleidoscope recently contacted me and asked just that, would I like to choose something from their website to receive and review? I of course snapped their hand off and spent some time browsing their site trying to decide what to choose.
In practical mum mode, I was tempted with jeans, jumpers and my usual staple wardrobe items but in a flash of inspiration I decided to treat myself to a lovely new party dress because it’s at least 4 years since I last bought one and everyone deserves to have a little bit of glamour in their wardrobe
Kaleidoscope have some gorgeous party dresses and I decided to go for this one? Do you like it? I opted for blue because everyone needs a little black dress but black tends to make me look a little washed out whereas dark blue is much softer on my skin tone
I love how on their website they have videos of real people in real sized clothes wearing the dress so you can get an idea of what it looks like when not on a size 4, 6ft tall model
Oh I suppose I should show you what it looks like on me
I don’t exactly do it the justice that the model above does but I think I can pull it off!
Do you like it? Right now I need to find an excuse to get my husband to take me somewhere nice so I can wear it
Pop on over to Kaleidoscope to have a look and see what other beautiful things they have on offer
The NEXT Autumn/Winter 2011 Preview
1I was very kindly invited down to see the NEXT Autumn/Winter 2011 preview of their new collection and thought I’d give you a sneaky peak of a few of my favourite items from the collection. I’ve already compiled quite a shopping list and I can’t wait for the range to be available in the stores so I can start shopping
