On the fourth day of christmas…

Day 4 of my christmas shopping list from NEXT and I’m still being selfish and choosing products for myself :) There is just so much to choose from, I’ll save my choices for Zara and hubby for another day (maybe!) :)

OK so I know I’m going to be almost 7 months pregnant at christmas but it will help me get back in shape once baby 2 arrives :)

and something a little more sedate…

OK I know it’s a little bit pricey but you never know there might be somebody out there feeling very generous this christmas :)

On the first day of christmas…

OK so it’s not quite the first day of christmas yet but I thought I’d start my countdown a little early and start listing my 12 must haves that I really really want from NEXT as I’m a bit of a shopping addict and I really need to start thinking about christmas shopping :) NEXT are currently running a blogging promotion and so the more click throughs I get from my site the more chance I stand of winning some nice NEXT vouchers and number one on my list of things to spend them on is this rather lovely maternity coat as my non-maternity coat no longer fastens and I don’t think I can spend the next 3 months exposing my belly to the cold north east weather :)

My maternity coat of choice!

Of course I can’t be completely selfish and I might aswell get this lovely coat for Zara aswell seeing as she also has to brave this awful weather we are having :)

A Coat for Zara!

I’ve been thinking lately that now that I am home all day with Zara, my spending habits are becoming rather obscene. I’m sure back before the internet this never used to be a problem but being home all day and having access to all the shops in your home is just bad bad news.

Before I had Zara I would occasionally buy myself the odd nice handbag or nice outfit but since her arrival I now have something new and exciting to buy for. In my career woman days I could never have imagined myself getting excited over the latest fisherprice toys or bulk buying nappies to make the most of my boots advantage points. Let alone becoming a pushchair addict – oh how I mocked those women who seemed to have a pushchair to match every outfit and had to get all the latest fashion accessories to pimp their buggies!

Now I admit that most of what I buy is carefully considered.  I’m a bit of a voucher queen and carefully shop around for each purchase to make the most of vouchers, advantage points etc etc take for instance the Quinny Zapp I bought recently now this was a real bargain – take the justification I used with my husband:

  • It is reduced from £150 to £90 on the Boots website
  • and its currently 10 points per £1 spend on there at the moment
  • and I’ve got a 10% off voucher if I spend over £100
  • so I’ll buy some nappies so I qualify for that
  • OK so total purchase price £101 (including nappies)
  • so thats 10% off – so £90
  • but I also get £10 of advantage points
  • soooo technically the Zapp cost – £90 less 10%, less £9 of advantage points therefore £90 – £9 – £9 = £72 – so I got a £150 pushchair for less than half price – BARGAIN :)

and I just had to have the Radley changing bag that had 25% off in Debenhams – just because I haven’t bought a new bag in a while and every girl needs a nice changing bag :)

and since my old watch broke recently I had to buy a new one – I’ve been considering a new watch for about 4 years now as the old one was about 10 years old. Luckily for me I chose to spend my £50 of tesco clubcard vouchers on buying some rewards from Goldsmiths – ie £50 of clubcard vouchers = £200 to spend. OK so the £50 could have bought me lots of lovely food but £200 did go someway to buying my beautiful gold and diamond watch. Bad Dawnie!!

I’ve decided the only way to carry on funding this dangerous habit is to

a) win the lottery

b) get more clients for my business

c) sell my soul to the devil

and seeing as the chances of a) happening are pretty remote and that the devil doesn’t seem interested in paying that much for my soul I guess it’s going to have to be b).
