Nursery Blues
1Sorry for neglecting my blog for a little while but it’s been a pretty rough time in the Brown household.
As you know Zara started nursery last week, she was there for 4 days and she loved it, settled really well with no issues which was fantastic
A huge weight off my mind. So why on earth is this blog post called nursery blues you might ask?
Well basically since Friday, Zara has been awful, full of cold, coughing and this then turned into sickness and diareaha. Not to forget the fact that she also caught conjunctivitus on top of all that. I’ve had gunk, mucus, sick, poo etc coming out of every orifice she has and it’s been exhausting. She’s barely eating, barely drinking, won’t sleep without screaming herself into an exhausted sleep which usually takes about 5 hours. For the last few nights she’s been in bed at 7pm and only finally going to sleep at about midnight or later. We’ve been up and down the stairs with her a thousand times and even cuddling just doesn’t work
I think you can safely safe I’m exhausted, miserable and really in need of a good nights sleep. I’m supposed to be back at work now and I’ve been off all week with Zara as we have no other childcare alternatives so I can feel my career slipping down the toilet by the day
I don’t particularly enjoy my job but it would be nice to actually be able to turn up there for once!
Anyway there we have it, a miserable post on nursery blues! Sorry for depressing you all
Introducing baby #2 – 20 week scan
3Yesterday I went for our 20 week scan so I thought I’d share the picture. It really really reminds me of Zara so I think I’ve convinced myself I’m having another girl but we didn’t find out the sex. I spent the entire of my last pregnancy with Zara convinced I was having a boy so I’m not too optimistic about by ability to determine sex but hey ho we will find out in March
I think I’ve been eating too much sugar as baby is a hyperactive little bugger and wouldn’t stay still for photos or measurements but everything measuring ok at present. My placenta is still partially covering the cervix but still time for it to move up yet so I’m not going to drive myself insane worrying about c-sections just yet!
If you look carefully you can see that the thing below it’s chin is actually a hand with a thumb and 4 little fingers
Could your baby be the NEXT baby boutique model?
1I was so excited when I read about this competition, after all I do think my little girl is absolutely gorgeous, but unfortunately due to the return of the dribble rash I don’t think I’ll be able to get any nice enough photos to enter her but that isn’t going to stop me sharing the details about the competition with my readers
NEXT are currently running a competition to find the NEXT baby boutique model. The competition is open for babies aged from birth up to 36 month so if you think your baby is beautiful why not enter and be in with a chance of winning £500 of NEXT vouchers and a 12 month modelling contract with Urban Angels.
Full details of the competition and how to enter are shown below, so what are you waiting for?…. head over to www.facebook.com/nextonline now and get entered

The Gallery – 29th August 2010
8This post is this weeks entry for The Gallery over at Sticky Fingers
The prompt this week is a photo taken on the 29th August 2010. All day I was looking for a nice photo opportunity but with bad weather and us being busy rearranging the living room and building IKEA furniture the day kind of got away from me. I was tempted to cheat and post a photo from another day – after all who would know except me. Though I’m too honest for that so as we were sitting down to Sunday dinner of veggie bangers, mash and peas I put the camera on the table and got snapping. So here we are a collection of photos from our Sunday dinner on the 29th August, which just happened to be 9 months to the day since Zara was born. I can’t believe she’s been outside of me for as long as I was pregnant now!
Blogadesh – why I love the world of blogging!
0You’d think just sitting down and writing an online blog is a pretty small and inconsequential thing in the scheme of things. After all it’s mainly peoples personal musings on their lives and such but occasionally you come across something that reminds you why blogging can be such a powerful tool and how it can bring good to peoples lives.
Take for instance Blogadesh , at the beginning of September three of the UK’s mummy bloggers are heading to Bangladesh to see the work that is done by Save the Children first hand. Please click on the badge below to be taken to the Save the Children site and find out more about this exciting trip and for ways to add your support to the campaign.
